 Following his appointment as
Business Development Manager in May this year, Ian King has been
promoted to Hire Manager following a successful first six months
with the company. During this time he has headed installs and hire projects such as
the re-branding of UKDS to Kalyx at the Wallace Collection and acted as Project
Manager on a number of large scale hire operations.
Through his good work in this
area, combined with his all-round knowledge and first hand
experience working as a freelancer, it was decided that King should
take on the role of Hire Manager. In this role King is responsible
for running the Point Source Productions hire team, acting as the
main contact for hire jobs across the board and specialising in
looking after the company’s larger customers.
“Since Ian has taken over the role
of Business Development Manager, we have seen an increase in
customer satisfaction and profitability within our hire department,”
explains Capel, “much of which we put down to Ian’s knowledge and
organisational skills.”
King attributes this to his
training as a Lighting Designer at Rose Bruford college from where
he graduated in December 2005. “I consider my LD training an
advantage since it means I think in the same vein and am on the same
technical and creative wavelength as the designers and technicians
who come to us. It means we can give our customers the personal
touch and the added service value which Point Source customers have
come to expect.”
