Point Source Productions has
recently invested in a number of Selecon RAMA High Performance
fresnels, to simultaneously expand our hire stock whilst continuing
to offer our clients the most innovative new products on the market.
We feel the Selecon Rama HP has a
number of special features which give it the edge over similar
products.
The large 175mm lens ensures a
high ratio of light output for the wattage – Selecon claim there is
a 50% increase over standard 150mm lens units. Beam angles range
from 7°- 56° with a flat, even spread of light.
The swingdown door allows easy
access to the lamp whilst the microswitch automatically disconnects
power on opening – invaluable for schools and amateur markets where
inexperienced technicians could be using them.
The adjustable yoke’s fulcrum can
be adjusted anywhere along the length of the lantern to perfect the
balance point at whatever angle it is positioned and regardless of
the number of accessories on the front.
The fixture seems kinder to gels
whilst its heat-insulated rear
grab-handle (which doubles as handy storage for the 1m cable length)
and plastic front and back
ends ensure the unit remains cool during operation and focus.
“The integrated safety bond ticks
all the boxes as far as health and safety are concerned,” says Hire
Manager, Ian King. “People can be sloppy when applying safety bonds
but the bond on the Rama is very easy to use – it just needs to be
loosened for focussing, and most importantly, tightened again for
safety. The fact that it is encapsulated means it cannot be mislaid
– which is great for hire companies.”
“Shock loading capacity is also
frequently taken for granted but the RAMA bond is the correct length
for its size with a certified rating so you are confident it will do
the job.”
“We believe the Selecon Rama truly
matches functionality with useability and is a product worth
investing in,” adds MD, Stephen Capel, “ Our new units have been
kept busy on corporate and theatrical events from day one.”
