Maintenance Department at ABTT 09

Conceived in January 2009, Point Source Productions officially launched its dedicated Maintenance Department at ABTT 2009.

Created in response to increasing demand for its repair services and the maintenance of customers’ own equipment, the Maintenance Department offers a range of services from individual item repair to full-scale maintenance contracts, including Portable Appliance Testing.

“Our Maintenance Department service is focused on venues, schools, event companies, long term installations and organisations which need to take the pressure off heavy work loads,” explains Managing Director, Stephen Capel.

“Many schools, for example, have their annual Portable Appliance Testing carried out by electricians who have little specialised knowledge of theatre equipment.   By booking Point Source Productions to do your servicing, we send experienced technicians who can simultaneously carry out a full service and Portable Appliance Test of your equipment so you can be confident that both issues are dealt by qualified staff in one economical package.”

In addition to servicing, the Maintenance Department also handles the repairs of both lighting and sound equipment including lighting desks and dimmers, generic and moving lights, sound desks, amps and related audio outboard.

Customised service schedules can be arranged to suit the client and equipment servicing – tailor-made to suit each customer - can take place either at the client’s own premises or those of Point Source Productions.
